About the Founders
That's us in the picture - Linda (right) and Ali Kriscenski - out enjoying some of Burlington's natural landscape in 1976. A lot has changed since then but we are still enjoying Burlington - that's the inspiration for The Burlington Blog.
Linda Kriscenski has lived in Burlington for 37 years. She has 3 grown children, is an enthusiastic participant in community service and is the owner of Summerfield Realty located near the town green. Linda has served as Chairman of the Burlington Committee on Open Space, Chariman of the Region 10 School Board and was Chairman of the 1989 Burlington Charter Commission. Before becoming a realtor 30 years ago, Linda worked as a reporter covering Burlington events for the Hartford Courant.
Ali Kriscenski is Linda's youngest daughter. She grew up in Burlington and passed through all of the wonderful schools here. After graduating from Lewis S. Mills, Ali lived in Colorado for five years where she fulfilled her love of snow sports and the great outdoors. She returned to Connecticut to attend UConn then received a MS in Environmental Science and a Master's Certificate in Sustainable Design. She has worked as a freelance writer delving daily into her favorite topics: green building and eco-living (Daily Tomorrow, Inhabitat, Greener Assets). Ali is now the Head of Communications for the Forest Stewardship Council.
