Fireworks display at Johnnycake Mountain Farm!

Burlington is going to have a fireworks display on Friday, July 16, at 9 p.m. on Johnnycake Mountain Farm! The event is sponsored by the Town, Johnnycake Mountain Farm, and the Burlington Lions Club.

Rain date is July 17.
Parking will be available on the Farm property.
Any questions can be directed to Town Hall, 860-673-6789 x202.

Be Green Day @ BPL!

The Burlington Public Library and the Burlington Library Association ("Friends") will be sponsoring a fundraising "Be Green Day" for the library on June 26 from 12 - 3 PM.

Winter fun at the Family Winter Carnival!

The Burlington Parks and Recreation Department partnering with the Burlington Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Winter Carnival at the Nassahegan Recreation Comples. Activities will include sleigh or hay rides, snow painting or snow sculpting contest, snow volleyball, ice skating and sledding. The KIM students from Har-Bur Middle School will provide games and crafts for all! So, think snow, bring your enthusiasm and join in for a fun-filled afternoon.

Wildlife Tracks and Signs at Sessions Woods

Learn about wildlife tracks and then head outside for a short walk to look for animal signs. Children also will make a track to take home. The program will be held on 12/30/2009 from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm. It is free of charge, preregistration required by contacting Laura Rogers-Castro at 860 675-8130 or laura.rogers-castro@ct.gov.

October 5, 2008 (Sunday), at 8:00 a.m. Fall Bird Walk

Burlington resident and bird enthusiast Laura Spitz will lead this bird walk suitable for all levels of bird watching ability! Laura will guide participants to several habitats at Sessions Woods for the opportunity to see a diversity of birds. She also will provide bird identification tips and suggestions for bird watching field guides. The 2-mile bird walk will begin at the flag pole in front of the Sessions Woods Conservation Education Center. Participants should bring binoculars and wear appropriate shoes for hiking.
